Pre-game:

Lots of shooting and fairly easy kill points with all of the transports.  I have 13 kill points and Dave has 16 so it should be a close game.  I lose the roll for sides and going first and fail to seize the initiative.  Dave deploys across his deployment zone making a wall of razorbacks.  I deploy my wraiths and barges up front and 2 warrior squads in the back out of the way.

Turn 1:

Dave moves up and disembarks and fires everything he can into the wraiths wiping one squad off the table and doing a few wounds to another.  I move my wraiths up and fire with my barges popping one vehicle and killing a few purifiers in one unit.  I assault with a unit of wraiths and they killed a couple purifiers and he does a couple of wounds back.

Turn 2:

Dave moves up with the rest of his army and puts a few wounds on the unengaged wraiths.  Paladin drops in right near my warrior units in my deployment zone.  His shooting does a couple wounds to one of my warriors squads and they reanimate.  Vendettas don't come in this turn.  In the assault phase 2 more units of purifiers assault the engaged unit of wraiths and end up double hammerhanding them and finished the unit off.  The other wraith unit was shot and is down to 3 wraiths.  The start of my turn 2 and 12 wraiths have been killed already.  I was in a little bit of a shocked state.  My flyers come in and start putting wounds on purifiers and put one unit down to 1 guy and kill a few more in another.  My immortals drop out of the nightscythe near the spot the wraiths were taken out by 3 units and they kill a few purifiers as well.  I am killing grey knights but I haven't been focus firing to wipe squads out yet.  A purifier squad overwatches against my remaining 3 wraiths and manage to kill 1 and I failed a 3" assault thanks to double 1's.

Turn 3:

Vendettas are in and start shooting my flyers and I manage to jink away the hits.  His purifiers finish off the wraiths.  He unloads what he can into my immortals and kills a few.  My overlords were out front soaking up wounds with their 2+ saves.  Dave's paladin kills a barge.  I try and shoot Crowe with my nightscythe and manage 1 wound on him while my other flew off the board to try and target the vendettas next turn.  My remaining barge tries to finish off a razorback and does. My immortals have a choice of targets with a 4 man squad and an 8 man squad.  I chose the 8 man squad because I knew Dave would try and assault with his 4 man purifier squad.  I wanted to see how 2 lightning fields worked and 20+ overwatch shots.  If that failed to wipe the 4 of them I knew 2 mind shackle scarab overlords would do it.  I killed a couple in the 8 man unit and waited.

Turn 4:

The vendettas move up between my warriors and immortals.  The purifiers shot the immortals again killing a couple and Crowe kept moving toward the center of the board and the main fight.  Just like I predicted, Dave assaulted with the 4 man unit and I ended up killing 1 with overwatch and the remaining 3 with the lightning fields 2d6 strength 8 ap5 hits.  I rolled 10 hits on 3 guys.  It was awesome.  In my turn I bring my nightscythe on and shoot the vendettas and wreck one and kill the other with 2 voltic staffs.  The veteran squad loses half of them in the crash.  My warrior squads rapid fire and kill the rest of the veterans.  I move both overlords out of the immortal unit and 1 assaults the remaining purifier squad in from of them.  I mind shackle 1 guy and kill 1, make my saves on the attacks back.  I killed 2 with the warscythe and end up losing the overlord to the hammer.  He doesn't stand back up.  My other overlord goes after the remaining razorback to get an easy kill point.

Turn 5:

Not much left for either of us at this point.  I have kill points if I can survive.  He shoots my overlord and then assaults him.  I mind shackle the hammer purifier and he kills them both.  I consolidate into the ruin in the above photo and Crowe is coming.  In my turn I move up with my immortals and shoot Crowe doing nothing to him. I assault Crowe with my overlord and he passes the mind shackle and we end up pushing combat and the game ends.

Post game:

I end up winning with kill points to go 2-1 in the tournament and take 7th place out of 20.  This was probably the bloodiest game of 40k I have played yet.  Dave had 7 models left on the board and I had 15 or so.  I took advantage of the easy kill points at the end of the game to push it into my favor.  I honestly didn't think I had a chance after I lost 15 wraiths at the start of turn 3.  My big block of immortals has been worth the large chuck of points it is with both overlords and 2 cypteks in there.  It is a rock solid unit with a couple surprises for people if they don't know any better.  Dave was my favorite opponent for the day.
