Pre-game:
Jeff won the objective roll and had 3 to place and placed one in the middle of the table in to open and 2 back in his table half. I placed my 2 in my table half within 3 inches of cover. Jeff also won the roll to go first and let me deploy first. I deployed my wraiths in a line across the middle of my deployment zone and the annihilation barges mixed within. I deployed a unit of warriors on an objective in cover. The rest were embarked in my nightscythes.
Necron turn 1:
I moved my annihilation barges just enough to get a jink save.
Daemons turn 1:
Jeff gets his preferred wave and Fateweaver, 2 daemon princes, and the blood crushers come in. They drop in the open in the middle of the board and scatter very minimally. He runs the blood crushers in the shooting phase to get them close to me.
Summary of the rest of the game because I didn't write this up sooner.
Flyers come in. I drop another unit of warriors onto an objective in cover. My wraiths move up and surround his flying monstrous creatures hoping that with enough shooting I can ground them. I put all my tesla shots and warrior shots into the FMC's and end up putting a wound on Fateweaver and grounding him. The other FMC's end up still in the air though. With Fateweaver on the ground, my wraiths assault in and hope to kill or at least tie him down. The wraiths end up putting more than enough wounds on him that he doesn't pass all his saves and dies. First time I have played against Fateweaver and he wasn't as tough to kill as I had heard, but I think I got lucky. If I hadn't grounded him my wraiths were in a vulnerable position for his turn. My other wraith unit assaults the blood crushers and I killed 2 and he killed 1 and we stay locked in combat.
Horrors, daemon prince, and blood letters come in but not the flamers. Daemon princes vector strike 2 of my barges off the table. Jeff's troops move towards his objectives. Jeff ends up vector striking my Immortals nightscythe and my immortals go back into reserves. The wraiths and blood crushers hold in combat until turn 5 when the blood crushers finally kill the wraiths off. Only one blood crusher was left after that combat. I moved my last unit of wraiths onto an objective to contest instead of assaulting the flamers which I should have done. I dropped my last unit of warriors onto an objective in Jeff's deployment zone and I have 3-2 on objectives in the late stages of the game but with 2 daemon princes still flying around who are scoring is scary. His flamers come in on turn 4 and because I didn't assault with my wraiths he moves over to my warriors on his objective and flames them off of the table. I fail my everliving to lose that objective on the last turn. His daemon prince swoops over to one of my warrior squads on an objective and bolt and breath them off the table and I fail another everliving roll. In the final turn I end up losing 3 objectives and Jeff holds 3 and contests 1. I forgot to bring my Immortal unit in from reserves on turn 4 and bringing them in on turn 5 I could not get to an objective in time. My mistake because they had enough shooting in that unit where I could have contested one and shot the horror's off another if I remembered to bring them in on turn 4.
Recap:
Jeff had the advantage from the start with 4 FMC's that were scoring. I had a very good turn 2 killing Fateweaver. I made a mistake of underestimating flamers. After turn 2 I just couldn't hit the daemon princes with anything. I Jeff's daemon princes weren't scoring due to the mission my battle plan would have been a lot different. Kill Fateweaver, then kill the weak troop choices. All in all it was a very fun and competitive game. I think I got 4 or 6 battle points for this game.
